United Members Federal Credit Union will not solicit confidential
or sensitive member information via e-mail, telephone or
other communication methods. For your protection,
our website should not be accessed from a link provided
by a third party, instead it should only be accessed by
typing the website name or the URL address into the web
browser or by using a “bookmark” that
directs the web browser to the Credit Union’s website. The
Credit Union will not send e-mail messages requesting confidential
information, such as account numbers, passwords or personal
identification numbers (PINs).
You are asked to report any such requests to the Credit
Union.
The Credit Union will maintain current website security
certificates that assure online members that its website
has been authenticated by a third party and that confidential
transactions are secured by SSL (secure sockets layer)
encryption. Always
be sure to verify the first five letters in your address bar are “https” when
accessing your home banking as well as looking for the padlock in the lower right
hand corner of the screen. This will ensure you are at the proper site.
If you suspect that you are or have been a target
of a phishing scam or have provided personal financial
information in response to a phishing scam, you should
